HTX number screening

The exchange formerly known as Huobi, still carrying a large base of long-standing Chinese-speaking accounts.

Coverage

  • Vietnam
  • Turkey
  • Malaysia
  • Hong Kong SAR

HTX's foundation is the Chinese-speaking user base built up in the Huobi era — many accounts date back to 2017–2020 and dispersed across Southeast Asia along with their owners. Its deep ties to the TRON ecosystem also mean higher account density wherever TRC20 transfers are the default habit.

Platform characteristics

  • The rebrand from Huobi carried the account system over intact, so a hit is often an account opened in 2018 that was simply never closed.
  • Early sign-ups skewed heavily toward phone numbers, producing more 'number long dead, account still live' cases than newer exchanges.
  • Accounts expose a public UID that anchors referrals, copy trading and campaign eligibility.
  • Withdrawals default to TRC20, and the user base's on-chain habits lean toward the TRON ecosystem.

What screening solves here

An HTX hit usually means the number belongs to someone who lived through a previous cycle and already knows how onboarding and fiat rails work — very little to explain. The trade-off is dormancy: the check confirms the account exists, not that it still trades, so decide up front how you'll handle that slice.

FAQ

How do I check whether a number or email has an HTX account?

Two checks are available — a mobile account screening and a real-time email check — submitted and returned separately. Because the Huobi-to-HTX rebrand carried the account system across unchanged, legacy accounts still resolve normally.

After Huobi became HTX, do the old accounts still show up?

They do. The rebrand changed the name and domain, not the user system, so accounts opened in 2018 or 2019 still return as opened. That also means results include long-dormant accounts — the check verifies existence, not current trading activity.

How does an HTX list differ from a MEXC list?

HTX skews toward veterans who've been through a cycle: easy to onboard, but harder to impress. MEXC skews toward new-listing chasers whose accounts were often opened for one specific token: fast to react, low loyalty. The two pools want different offers.
